What led to the demise of Jim Mora Jr.?
Mora's biggest downfall was not having a system in place that could take advantage of what Vick was good at. He allowed Vick to "prove himself" as a pocket per. News flash, stick with what you're good at, and Vick was good at running and financing dogfights. It's been made clear that Bobby Petrino was selected because it was widely believed that his system would take advantage of Vick's strengths. Having hired a coach based upon the skills of one player who is now gone, makes me think Petrino's stint in Atlanta could be a short one unless they can find a long term solution at QB, and quickly. Sean Payton's future won't be known until about 3/4 of the way thru the next season. If the Saints continue to struggle to that point, the feeding frenzy will start with speculation of his firing. At the very least he would enter the 2009 season on the hot seat.
