This is a really simple thing, but.......?

i'm going to try to grow salt crystals, and i was wondering - how do you make the sponge (which will be the surface for the crystals) stick to the bottom of the container? it floats up, and since it's got to be constantly submerged in water, i can't stick it on with tape or whatever.
