When did Christians begin observing the Sabbath on Sunday?

I'm neither Christian nor Jewish, and not interesting in arguing whether one day is more "valid" than the other. I'm just curious whether Christians always observed it on Sunday, or whether they used to observe it on Saturday but switched, whether they did it to differentiate themselves from Jewish worshipers or to celebrate the day of the resurrection, or what.
